Angel Food Cake with Strawberries and Cream

It was my mom and dad's 37th wedding anniversary last September 5 and what better way to celebrate it than with a home made cake.

So many ideas popped into my mind but I opted for an easier one which is the Angel Food Cake. I've already done this during class so I didn't have to stress myself much following the instructions on the recipe.

I actually had a copy of the recipe from our school but I misplaced it so I just searched on the web through my phone and used the recipe by Unsophisticook.

The recipe calls for 12 egg whites but I didn't have enough in stock so I just cut the recipe in half.

Mmmmm.... lemon...

Making an Angel Food cake is basically mixing everything...

dumping them into a tube pan, and throwing it in a 350F heat.

I find the angel food cake too plain so I thought of putting some strawberries and cream topping. So while waiting for the cake to be done, I prepared the ingredients for the topping. Again the recipe for the home made whipped cream came from Unsophisticook.

The cake turned out small but the size is just enough for the entire household.

When it cooled out, I started spreading the whip cream.

And finished it off with strawberries. I just made use of canned strawberry filling in replacements of fresh strawberries. Next time I'll try using the fresh ones.
