EDU Hostel Jogja

EDU Hostel Jogja was our chosen accommodation for our overnight stay in downtown Yogya. The name doesn't sound cool but the overall appearance of the hotel is the opposite.

There are many accommodations in the area, some are nearer the famous Malioboro street and Tugu Train Station. The location really isn't a big deal to me as we have Wisnu to drive us around.

The rooms are dorm type. There's a female dorm, male dorm, and 4 bed private dorm. We booked the private dorm so we don't have to worry much about our stuff getting stolen.

Room has a high ceiling with pretty big bed. It's actually a double deck queen sized bed with  2 single mattresses on the upper deck.

Bathroom is big with 2 showers inside. (no photo)

Aside from the aircon and a 32" TV with decent cable channels (thank God), there are no other facilities in the room.

One bad point is the WIFI connectivity being non-existent in our room. We had to go down to the lobby to connect to their WIFI. Our room is on the 4th floor.

In Indonesia they use this type of electrical outlet.

While there are desktop computers free for use at the lobby, internet connection is slow.

Breakfast is included in the room rate but do not expect much.

To be fair to the hotel, they change their breakfast menu everyday. It just so happened that our breakfast on that day was this.

rice, shredded egg, kropek, crunchy noodle, and some veggies

The hotel has a rooftop with a dipping pool overlooking the city but we weren't able to use the facilities as it was covered in ashes too.
