SE Asia Trip Series (Day 6): Refill Now Hostel, Bangkok
02.27.09 — Being on a budget tour, we decided to stay in a hostel. We booked for 2 nights at Refill Now Hostel. The hostel is a white modern building situated in a quiet residential area on
Sukhumvit 71. The building has floor to ceiling glass windows which lets
the natural daylight illuminate every area. Everything is painted in
white which creates a relaxing feel.
The lobby / common area is decorated with stylish and playful furniture.
Internet services, travel desk...
swimming pool...
A free tuktuk ride to the nearest train station...
This was my first time to experience sleeping in a room abroad, bunk bed style. The dorm has 3 bunk beds which can accommodate 6 persons. There are blinds on each side of the beds to give you some privacy. Like in our case, we requested that the room be exclusive for the 4 us. They just simply pulled down the blinds to separate us from the other person occupying the bed next to us.
Each bed has a reading lamp and electronic outlet. We were also provided with soft bed linens and clean towels.
The room has a common wash area...
4 showers (2 for females, 2 for males), and 2 CRs which we shared with the other dorm on the opposite side of the room.
We were handed with keys for access to our dorm room and lockers. Each key has popo bear key chains.
Each one of us were assigned with lockers big enough to store our luggage.
My verdict:
Cleanliness: Excellent
Service: Excellent (accommodating manager and owner)
Facilities: Excellent
Price: Very good (a bit pricey for a hostel)
Location: Satisfactory (no nearby shopping areas, 10-minutes drive to the nearest train station)
