Once Upon A cantonese Winter: Shopping Under the Gloomy Skies
Feb 19, 2011 — Our 4th day was our shopping day. Our room window is facing another building so it was hard to determine if it was still early without checking our cellphones. It was almost 11am when we finally got out but it looked like it was only 6am.
Carnarvon Road
We headed to the nearest KFC to have brunch.
Chicken, egg, muffin, biscuit, milk tea, crisscut fries, egg tart to jumpstart our day! (gutom lang?)
And then we began our walking/shopping tour.We started with the local shops at Cameron Road.
Ben and Jerry's scoop shop at the Knutsford steps along Kimberly Road.
We also went inside Miramar Shopping Centre and checked if there's still an available Naruto limited edition shirts at Uniqlo.

This store was on sale (forgot what street it is located). Their last season’s items were being sold at 3
for HK$200.
the store was named JDC - a local brand
I bought a pair of jeans, a hooded jacket with detachable
sleeves and a cape blazer.
And then we took the MRT to Sham Shui Po.
Sham Shui Po is one of the many shopping districts in Hong
Kong. You can find a lot of items here ranging from electronics, computer stuff
and even kitchen equipment.
I really don’t mind not going to Sham Shui Po during my
previous trips as I buy my camera accessories in TST or Mongkok. But when I found out recently that this place
is home to wholesale clothing stores, I immediately included it in our
itinerary.
Sham Shui Po is just 5 stations away from Tsim Sha Tsui. Upon arriving at Sham Shui Po, we walked along Cheung Sha Wan Road where most of the fashionwear wholesalers can be found.
Wholesale!
Being able to shop in Bangkok a few times, I find their
wholesale prices a bit expensive. Add to that that you have to get a minimum of
3 pieces of a particular item of the same style and the same color to get a wholesale price. But I’m
not discouraging you from buying. I’m just a cheapo. Hehe.

We also checked out Apliu Street where most of the electronics stuff can be found.

We got tired walking for 5 straight hours plus it was drizzling the whole
afternoon so we decided to go back to the hotel.
