Touring the Lion City: Lost in Orchard

June 9, 2010. On our first night, we went to Orchard to meet my cousin R for dinner. The lovely Ion Orchard welcomed us as soon as we got out of the MRT exit.

We stopped by Lucky Plaza first to purchase a Singtel Hi! Simcard (I hate sky-high roaming charges.) Lucky Plaza is home to shops that sell Filipino products. It's like World Wide House in HK. So there's a 100% chance that you'll meet a Filipino inside or within the perimeter. Remittance outlets can be found here. PNB also has a branch and beside it we saw this shop:

House of what?!?

We met cousin R at Takashimaya then decided we have our dinner there.

The Food Village

and we had Pepper Lunch (as if naman we do not have Pepper Lunch here in Manila no? pero dedma libre naman)

We didn’t have plans that night as it was getting late and malls were closing, so we just went for a walk along Orchard Road and made tambay for a couple of minutes outside Ion Orchard.

I just had to take a photo of this cool store ad.

Nike

Louis Vuitton

Prada
and when it was time to go home, we took the train again back to Chinatown.

Dhoby Gaut Station(The super nakakapagod na interchange)

Love the murals. Hope they also do it here in our MRTs.
