Velkommen Guesthouse, Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Velkommen Guesthouse is one of the newest budget accommodations on the riverside area in Phnom Penh. I booked us a triple room (good for 6) via hostelworld for $38. "Velkommen" means "welcome" in Norwegian and true to the guesthouse's name, the Norwegian owner, Gavin, was very welcoming.
Velkommen Guesthouse Reception Area / Bar
The guesthouse can be easily located as it's just a few steps away from Sisowath Road.

Lady Lizard Bar and Restaurant
Although they have a restaurant at the ground floor, they don't offer complimentary breakfast.
neighborhood
Like most of the buildings in that street, Velkommen is 4 storeys high. I
requested a room on the lower floor since we were carrying heavy
luggage.
Our room was located on the second floor and Gavin and his staff helped us carry our suitcases upstairs.
double beds
This was our second time to stay in a tiled room. Haha. Although our room has windows, it was facing another building. The room is air-conditioned and equipped with fan, cable tv, mini fridge and a safety box. There's also a free WIFI.
The bathroom is huge for guesthouse / hostel standards. I liked the white tiled walls + black tiled floors combination.
Note: Most of the photos were taken in the morning before we left the guesthouse.
